NCC Streetscape have a primary focus on Paving Joint solutions, as all types of paving are much more joint dependent than most people realise, which is why a lot of paving jointing is made with inadequate materials or installed inadequately. These inadequacies can often occur unknowingly, and/or because of pressure to complete the jointing, finish the paving and open the area. This can ignore limitations, such as many jointing products not being suitable for use in wet weather conditions. This leads directly to the inadequate performance and durability, with cracking, erosion and premature failure, creating trip hazards, the risk of further damage and breakdown.

The frequent need for repointing is often because of such failures. Decisions to select jointing, and repointing products based on lowest product cost, even for expensive stone and porcelain, make no sense. This is not ‘cheap’ if you are the Contractor with comebacks, or the Owner with areas out of use, claims, hassle and all the cost.
